Description: September 26-27, 2009: Northern California's finest joined together just outside of Sacramento, CA at Lake Camp Far West to participate in a unique weekend wakeskate only jam session called NorCal Convergence. This event was founded by Norcalwake.com's creator and wakeskate enthusiast Chris Barcelos who wanted to unite the local wakeskate community and that it did! This event, which initially brought together 5 riders give or take a few, now boasts upwards of 25-30 and counting.
The lake was pretty low as it usually is this time of year, but that didn't stop anyone. With some toasty weather, the weekend saw a great turnout with talents ranging from beginner to Pro. Some notable attendees and riders included Grant Roberts, Keaton Bowlby, Jen Gilanfarr, Brandon Rau, Austin Watts, Jamie Eddy, Chris Olesiewicz, and Evan Gambetta. On hand were 3 boats, 5 winches, 1 ski, and 2 rails which allowed for a non-stop throwdown showdown all weekend long!
Overall NCC9 was an awesome event and definitely one all wakeskaters should get involved in! Can't wait for NCC10!!!
